Fibres catching in your nib

Sometimes fibres get caught in the tines of your nib, this will cause your writing to be blotchy or have unsightly lines around your writing.

These fibres come from several sources, the paper you are using, or the cloth material you are using to clean the nib during use.

If the fibres are from the paper, this can be corrected by changing to a higher quality paper, using a lighter pen pressure, or a change in the pen to paper angle (shallower).

If the fibres are from the cleaning cloth material this also can be corrected by changing to the use of linen cloths, or a high quality paper towel (which looks like cloth).
